Karibu, Welcome Back

BEST WISHES TO ALL FOR 2022,

We hope you had a chance to take a breath, connect and reflect over the holidays. And now you are recharged and energized to make “BIG” things happen in the year ahead.

In our Winter/Spring programming sessions, we’ll stay the course on our “SANKOFA” journey, digging deeper into our series on Ancient Afrikan civilizations. Bringing forward lessons from our past, and connecting them to the Kwanzaa principles, as a path to a brighter future for our community.

“Take the first step in faith. You don't  have to see the whole staircase, just take the first step” Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

AFRICAN BEGINNINGS

Africa is a very diverse continent with many different types of land geography and climates. Ancient African people established many different traditions, religions and art forms. “Famous” Greeks studied to learn from Great African scholars and also about the years of African tradition and knowledge.

Reflection:

Think critically about the conflict and changes occurring in Africa during these two centuries. How does change affect individuals and groups of people
