The Dual Role Of Kings

If you want to know the end, look at the beginning” African proverb

THE DUAL ROLE OF THE KING

To the ancient African, the king was more than a political and governmental figure; the king was essential for balancing the dual forces of the universe, and disaster and destruction could result if the unity was not preserved and balanced to create harmony. This was a strong beliefs well as a religious idea to the Ancient African.

The Jubilee festival was a religious event to the Ancient African. If a king could not complete a test at the Jubilee festival, it was a sign from the Gods that a new king was needed, and the word of the Ancients could continue as it was.

Reflections:

How do you think the world would be if we embraced the Ancient African traditions of duality (opposite sides together) and balance  (a balance of opposite forces) to create harmony
